About me

My Story

Hi - I'm Reb Moti, welcome to my website. I would be honored to perform your life event!

I've been a rabbi for about 10 years, and I've worked both in synagogues and in communal organizations. Right now I run a small nonprofit in Kansas, working on social justice issues in the interfaith community. But I still love to work with folks on their events!

I live in the Kansas City area and can travel throughout Kansas and Missouri, or even farther. I am a member of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association, and can provide references for my work.

My Philosophy
My Experience

The Judaism that I practice and teach is deeply rooted in Jewish spiritual practice while branching out into the creativity and wonders around us - nature, culture and the other spiritual philosophies we are blessed to share the world with.

My goal is to help you develop a ceremony that is connected to Jewish tradition while honoring the varied background and commitments that all of us have today. The key question we will answer is: How can we develop a ceremony that is spiritually meaningful, creative, and inclusive of all the people and the values that are important to us?

Please be in touch so we can talk more about your needs, and the kind of ceremony that's right for you.

I'm currently a tutor and teacher in Kansas City and am director of Kansas Interfaith Action.

I've performed dozens of weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, funerals, etc.

Rabbi Moti performed our wedding service and prepared us for it in five meetings with him over more than four months in addition to a rehearsal. He spent time getting to know us, helped us plan the details of a Jewish wedding, and helped us understand the facets of this blessed event. We received a number of comments from friends and family that it was the most beautiful wedding service they had ever seen. -- Marty

I've worked with all age groups from all kinds of backgrounds and all kinds of abilities.

I'm married to Suzy, and our children are Ellie (17), Abbie (16) and Joey (13).
